Veolia Towers Hamburg got off to a strong start and created some early chances through Hollatz and Meisner. In the 5th minute, Hollatz put the Towers ahead with a three-pointer after converting a quick pass from Woodard. Shortly before half-time, Meisner increased the lead to 37-30 after Brown had initiated a fast break.

The Towers remained the dominant team after the break. Cedevita's point guard prevented Hollatz from scoring another three-pointer in the 28th minute after he had a good shooting opportunity. Cedevita Olimpija came back into the game in the final stages, but even after an unsportsmanlike foul by Woodard, Ljubljana could only reduce the deficit to 80-77 in the final seconds. Hamburg defended its lead and secured the victory.
